New Light Weight Braided Sleeves
Braided sleeves are tubular in shape, made in a braiding process. As a rule of thumb, the diameter will expand/contract ±30%. Handy formulas for determining your needs are:
Radius = ½ Diameter
Circumference = 3.1416 x Diameter
As the braid shortens in length, diameter increases as does the hoop strength but the bending strength decreases. The reverse is also true; as the braid stretches the diameter decreases the hoop strength decreases and the bending strength increases. This also affects the quantity you will need for your project.
